King of the Air from our perspective

09/02/2016

The Red Bull King of the Air in collaboration with Mystic was a blast! Among the field of the world’s best kiteboarders and with some 13.000 spectators looking, Aaron Hadlow (GB) claimed the crown in Cape Town.

Ingredients for the final day were a strong Southeaster combined with solid swell (four to six foot) to form perfect ramps for the riders to perform on. These howling conditions made it truly an extreme big air contest and pushed the boundaries of kiteboarding.

Team Mystic was well represented with national and international riders: Steven Akkersdijk (NL), Graham Howes (SA), Andries Fourie (SA), Lewis Crathern (GB) and Marc Jacobs (NZ). They all gave their best and Andries, Lewis and Marc made it to the semi finals. Check out a short photo recap through our eyes below (photos: Adriaan Oelofse).
